Frequently Asked Questions

Hi there!  We typically get quite a few questions regarding our organization, so we've tried to save you some time by creating this page.  Please take a look at the information listed below, and if there's still something on your mind, just shoot us a message.  We'll get back to you as soon as we can.

What is Community Service Inter-Club Council?

Community Service Inter-Club Council is made up of the service-based clubs and organizations at California State University, Fullerton.  The ICC is led by a board of student leaders who facilitate the operations of the council while connecting student organizations with the Associated Students, Inc.  As a recognized funding council within ASI's Executive Senate, the ICC redistributes student fees to student clubs and organizations to support their activities and enhance the overall student experience.

How do clubs become members of the ICC and what are the benefits?

To become a member of CSICC, a club must meet the following qualifications:

  • The group must be a registered student organization recognized by the Dean of Students Office whose purpose or activities are primarily community service-based.  Community service is defined as donating one’s time and/or resources for the betterment of the public.

  • Contact the ICC Chair and Vice Chair to set up a one-on-one meeting.  Also take a look at our website: csicccsuf.wix.com/serve and the resources available.  We also recommend downloading the CSICC Constitution and ASI Funding Policies.

  • The club must have a student serve as a representative of their club at general meetings of the ICC (currently every other Tuesday at 11:30 pm).  Attendance at general meetings is mandatory, and excessive absences or tardiness may result in a loss of membership privileges.

As a member of the ICC, students are able to meet and collaborate with other service-minded groups.  The ICC also works to support its member clubs by promoting their events and allowing clubs to request funds for the costs associated with their activities.

I'm a non-profit, charity, or other service-based organization; how can I partner with CSICC?

The ICC is interested in collaborating with any organization that can benefit our service-minded students.  Please contact us using the tab above and leave a detailed message as to what the purpose of your organization is and what you need from us.  We enjoy sharing community service and volunteer opportunities to our members.  We also welcome organizations to attend our general meetings to speak and engage with students directly.

How do students get involved with CSICC?

CSICC offers a number of student leadership positions including elected officers, appointed coordinators, and representatives of each service organization.  The Chair, Vice Chair, and Director of Administration are elected every spring and serve in their positions from July 1st to June 30th of the following year.  These elected officers appoint students to other leadership positions within the Executive Board, including Programs Coordinator and Marketing Coordinator.  All qualified students with experience and skills relevant to these posted positions are encouraged to apply.   Please note that you do not need to be a member of a service club or have been active in the ICC in the past to apply.

What community service or volunteer opportunities does the ICC offer?

Although CSICC seeks to foster the value of community service and volunteerism, its primary purpose is to support other student organizations doing that type of work.  However, the ICC may be able to direct students to a particular service club that would be a good fit.  Both short term and long term volunteer opportunities are available through Volunteer Service Programs with whom the ICC maintains a close relationship.   Non-profits and other outside service-based organizations are welcome to contact ICC leaders regarding volunteer, community-service, or internship inquiries.  We are happy to pass these types of opportunities on to our service-minded students at California State University, Fullerton.

I'm a club or student organization; how do I request funds?

Clubs and student organizations that have been recognized as members of the ICC may request funds if they are in good standing.  To remain in good standing, club representatives must maintain consistent attendance at general meetings and must have completed all requirements associated with previous funding requests.  Representatives will give a short presentation to the council on the event or program they are requesting for bt using detailed supplements, such as a budget outline and/or itinerary.  The representatives of each club will follow-up with questions, and then discuss and vote on whether to allocate funds.  Prior to the presentation a club representative should:

  1. Begin the process no less than 1 week before the meeting at which they wish to propose.

  2. Contact the Chair to be added the the meeting agenda

  3. Ensure they have reviewed and completed the forms listed below and submitted them to the Vice Chair directly.  All documents can be found under the "Downloads" tab.
